Pied Piper Walk Part 1: Hope to Hathersage
In a fun novelty twist on our traditional walks, this Pied Piper Walk welcomes all walkers from adventurers looking to complete the full walk from Hope to Sheffield, to those who would like a shorter walk joining us for one or two Parts of the 3 Part walk.
Join Emma, Jonathan and Catherine for the 4.63 miles of this first part and feel free to join for the full 13 miles back to Dore and Totley.

In a fun novelty twist on our traditional walks, this Pied Piper Walk welcomes all walkers from adventurers looking to complete the full walk from Hope to Sheffield, to those who would like a shorter walk joining us for one or two Parts of the 3 Part walk.
Join Emma, Jonathan and Catherine for the 2 miles of this second part and feel free to join for the rest of the journey back to Dore and Totley.

Location: Calton Lees Car Park, DE4 2NX
Meet at The Carlton Lees Car Park DE4 2NX. We will then head to a viewing point. They usually have two displays, one being at 19:45 and then 20:30 with the event finishing after the second display. Please bring a torch, something to sit on, snacks, sturdy footwear as it will be muddy and waterproofs if needed.
Transport: I would advise on car sharing and arrange lifts via Meetup. Alternatively you could catch the 218 bus to Baslow Nether End and walk through the park. I will be already on site but i can take 3 people back to Sheffield.

Wrap up warm, bring a blanket, some snacks and enjoy watching the fireworks both in the park and across the city!
Last year the firework display in Meersbrook park was awesome and you have a view of the entire city! If people are up for it we might find a pub afterwards!

Seasons greetings everyone!
It is once again time to leave the boots at home and throw on something a little more fancy!
We are pleased to announce that after such a fantastic experience last year, this year’s SWG Christmas Party will once again be taking place at Halifax Hall on Saturday 6th December, starting at 7pm!
If you were there last year, you already know the drill. We’ll be eating till we burst, with a delicious 5 course meal, interspersed with quizzes, puzzles, prizes, the end of year presentation!!!!!! and lots more fun! Afterwards we will optionally be heading into town to work off all that food on the dance floor!
Tickets are £40 and the SIGN UP DEADLINE IS November 18th. Once you have clicked ‘Attend’ we will reply to you with a form for meal selection and the SWG bank account details. The event is open to ramblers members only.
Refunds Policy: Once payment has been made to the SWG account, no refunds can be given. Tickets are transferable between SWG members as an alternative to refunds.

Tuesday Walk: Bakewell, Lathkill Dale and Over Haddon
Join Sam on a 9 mile week day walk from Bakewell
Tunnels and Tarts: Bakewell Circular via Monsal Dale & Trail
Josh is co-leading his first walk with Mollie and will be taking the group on the much beloved Monsal Trail for 9 miles. Pub option halfway!
Burbage Circular
Join Jacob on a Saturday morning for some breath-taking views and a 6 mile hike before the obligatory stop in one of our favourite pubs at Fox House
Ponderosa Preambulation
Come and join Dave on a easy 2.5 mile evening walk around a few local parks and to maybe watch the sunset.
All the leaves are brown (and the sky will probably be grey)
Take the 218 bus to join Miranda at Baslow for a 9.2 walk to enjoy the changing of seasons.
Wentworth Woodhouse and Elsecar Heritage Centre (linear walk Meadowhall to Elsecar)
This 11-mile walk covers an area north of Sheffield that we don’t go to very often! So switch it up by joining John and Liam to admire Wentworth Park, Elsecar Reservoir and more.
Bradfield Wanderer
In Chris’ own words: it’s rather hilly this one! With 10.7 miles around the Bradfield area, we’d expect no less.
Snakes and Ladders
Let’s embark on a full-day, strenous Snakes & Ladders game! Jonathan will be leading a hike up ladders and down snakes for 15.6 miles, so if you’re up for a challenge, mark this one in your calendar.
AGM 2025
It’s time for our Annual General Meeting! A chance for a good catch up over an drink, and to vote in the next committee.
Coffee Walk
Zoe and Emma are hosting a relaxed Tuesday morning walk through the Limb Valley and along Porter Brook. It will be 6 miles of wandering the woods in this area with the option to get a hot drink at the end.
Lyme Park Post-Parkrun Potter
This one is for Jono and Emma’s fellow parkrun enthusiasts! After the parkrun at Lyme Park, there will be a 7.5-mile walk around the southern side of the park. Of course you can also join without doing the run beforehand.
Margery Hill and Lost Lad viewpoint
A long walk on Thursday for those of us who work irregular hours. Zoe has planned a 13-mile hike through one of the quieter and less accessible areas of the Peak District, so this is a perfect opportunity to venture beyond the known routes!

If you are passionate about the countryside then come and join the right to roam movement to stand in solidarity with those working to protect and expand public access to nature.
Autumn Equinox Amble
We’re on equinox 3 out of 4 for the year, and we all know what that means: Miranda will be leading a 7.4-mile walk to a stone circle! Especially if you’ve not been before, make sure to sign up.
Blackamoor Nature Reserve and Totley Moors
Lee is taking the group on a leisurely 7-mile circular walk from Totley. What you can expect: lovely views, boggy moors, a pub at the end and hopefully some deer!
Dams, Disease, Discovery: Sheffield’s Water Heritage in Ewden Valley
This 8-mile walk led by Serena takes you past lots of interesting historical sites. Do read the walk description to learn more about the history of Ewden Valley and know what to look out for on the day.
Cromford and Crich Circular
Venture just outside the southeastern end of the Peak District on this 11-mile walk led by Liam. Your day will be filled with scenic valleys, woods, tunnels, aquaducts, viewpoints, a memorial stand, and of course a pub at the end!
The Last Ice Cream Walk of the Summer! (Or first Ice Cream walk of Autumn)
A leisurely, 7-mile walk with ice cream at the end. Sounds good, right? Join Lee for an afternoon in Hope Valley, hopefully with good weather to make the ice cream taste even better.
Walking Sheffield’s Western Watercourses
Jonathan and Catherine are co-leading this 12-mile walk around the west side of Sheffield, starting and ending at Endcliffe park. This walk will be joined by some lovely people from the Sheffield 40s Walking Group.

Let’s plan some walks to fill up the walks calendar for autumn! The Pub & Plan social is for walk leaders who want to discuss routes, co-leading and more. Of course with a pint and food if you fancy!
Limb Valley and Porter Clough
Looking for an easy outdoor start to your Sunday? Jenny is leading a 5-mile walk on the edge of Sheffield. Including an option to end with a visit to the Botanical Gardens.
Rivelin Circular
A moderate walk from rivelin valley going to Storrs and Underbank Chapel and Stannington.
Mayfield Meander
David is repeating his 8-mile walk from May to accommodate the many keen walkers this weekend! It’s a classic route at a leisurely pace, so suitable for (almost) everyone.
Weekend Away: Isle of Man
We’re going overseas this time, to Ramsey on the Isle of Man. Up in the north east (the sunny side) of the island, we have access to coast, mountains, and historic sites.
