Midsummer Evening Dream Walk
Emma has planned a 5.3-mile linear route from Stoney Middleton to Fox house that is the perfect start to your weekend. It involves a few steep ascents, but you will be rewarded with good views!

Flowers of the Dales
This 10-mile walk will take you past some of the beautiful ‘well dressings’ in the Peak District village of Youlgrave. Peter will be leading the way.

Summer Solstice Saunter
It’s summer solstice! As has become tradition, Miranda will be leading a 7.5-mile walk around one of her favourite stone circles to celebrate the official start of summer. Will you come along?

Bamford Station to Bamford Edge & Back
A classic Bamford loop that is easy to get to by train. Molly will be leading this 6.1-mile walk with Bamford Edge as the highlight.

Top of Sheffield
This 6.5-mile evening walk led by Peter will take you to the top of the near-highest hill in South Yorkshire. It is promising to be a hike with good views and a fast pace, but sadly it’s inaccessible by public transport.

Weekend Away: Nidderdale (Yorkshire Dales)
Our summer weekend away takes us to Nidderdale on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. West End Outdoor Centre on Blubberhouses moor between Nidderdale and Wharfedale, with plenty of walks and attractions nearby.

Peter wants to cover quite a few miles and steep slopes this evening. So, sign up if you want to make the most of the daylight with a strenous 5 to 6-mile hike around Kinder Scout. Sturdy boots required!

SWG Pub Hunt 2025
The annual pub hunt is back! Thanks to Bryn, we can again test our orienteering skills by engaging in a 9.5-mile walk across the Peaks to find 4 pubs. It’s going to be a fun day, so make sure to mark it down in your calendar.

Post-Parkrun walk to the Plague Village
This 11-mile walk led by Emma is perfect for parkrun enthusiasts. After doing the Monsal Trail parkrun, there is time to change into your hiking gear and join a moderately challenging loop to Eyam. Not into running? No problem, you can of course choose join just for the hike.

Derwent Edge & Abbey Brook
If you’re up for a strenuous walk, this 10-mile hike led by Peter is a good choice. It will be full of edges, hills and gorgeous views from the tops. Aside from sturdy hiking boots, don’t forget to bring a camera!

We’re going overseas this time, to Ramsey on the Isle of Man. Up in the north east (the sunny side) of the island, we have access to coast, mountains, and historic sites.

Section 6 - Sheffield Country Walk
Another evening walk, this time covering the longest, 8.5-mile section of the Sheffield Country Walk. Lotte will again be leading the group through Sheffield’s countryside to make the most of this Wednesday evening.

Morning walk and coffee
Together with Zoe and Emma, you can embark on a lovely weekday morning walk. With just 4 miles to cover and a coffee stop, it’s a good way to start your day.

A leg burner up Win Hill
Bradley’s first hike as a walk leader can be described as short and steep! Taking on the challenging Parkin Clough up to the top of Win Hill, this 6.5-mile walk requires a good level of fitness (and determination!).


Springwatch wildlife walk
Wildlife watching enthusiasts will need to mark this one in their calendar! Our in-house ecologist Fiona is leading a roughly 8-mile walk around Longshaw Estate to try and find all sorts of local wildlife around there.

Section 3 - Sheffield Country Walk
Another more rural section of the Sheffield Country Walk is coming up. To allow for public transport, Lotte has planned a 7.8-mile circular route from Fox House, followed by a linear bit into Totley.

An Evening Around Bents Green
Come along on this friendly 3-mile walk led by David to explore the area around Bents Green at the start of Ringinglow Road.

It's a Fin Cop
Will you join Peter for an evening walk around Ashford in the Water, Monsal Head and Fin Cop? All you need to know is: it’s 6 miles, reasonably fast-paced and the views will be gorgeous in the evening sun.

Stanage Edge and upper Rivelin Valley
Spend your Sunday walking in the Peaks with us and get some awesome views from the top of Stanage Edge. This 9-mile walk will be led by Mollie. Unfortunately it is not easy to reach by public transport.

The Rivelin Farewell Party Walk
If a leisurely 4-mile walk to get free food sounds like your thing, join Gergely for this Saturday at Rivelin Valley to say goodbye to the Rivelin Hotel.

A Ringinglow-key Afternoon
Serena and Lotte are hosting a relaxed 7.5-mile wander around the edge of Sheffield. There will be woods, valley trails and a pub along the way.

An Evening Around Fulwood
Time for another leisurely evening walk. David will lead us on a 4-mile loop around Fulwood. This was will include some nice wooded bits, a few fields and paths along roads.
Section 4 - Sheffield Country Walk
Time for yet another evening walk organised by Lotte, because the bank holiday means we can leave a little earlier than normal to catch the bus to one of the more remote sections. It’s supposed to be a scenic one!

The Highlights of Youlgrave (well, some of them)
How to best spend a bank holiday Monday? By joining us for a walk, of course! David has a rough idea of a 6 to 8-mile hike around Youlgrave. Keep an eye on Meetup for more detail and car sharing.
Hope Valley explorer
Chris will be leading this 9.6-mile walk up and over the Peak District tourist highlights, which of course includes Mam Tor. After a good bit of elevation, you will have deserved a drink (or two) at the pub.

Two Valleys of Sheffield
A 9.5 mile circular walk from Millhouses to Ringinglow, taking in both the Porter and Limb valleys.

Bleaklow & B29 Plane Crash Site Circular
Join Molly and Emma on the other side of the Peak District for an 8-mile walk near Glossop. There will be interesting sights around the B29 Plane Crash Site, and hopefully good weather!

Black Brook & Wyming Brook
Walk along with Peter for an almost circular 5-mile evening walk. Prepare for stepping stones and a few bits of ascent. You will be rewarded with good views!

Section 7 - Sheffield Country Walk
It’s promising to be another lovely evening, so it’s yet again time to cover a section of the Sheffield Country Walk. The walk will be led by Lotte and span 6.3 miles on the north side of Sheffield.
SWG has a picnic
Join us on Monday 19th May at 6.30pm for an evening picnic in Endcliffe park. Bring a picnic blanket and some food and drink (feel free to bring alcohol!) - maybe even grab something from one of the great local food places nearby!
We’ll meet at the main entrance gates by Hunter’s Bar and head into the park - I will whats3words in the meetup comments the exact location we end up settling down in.
If the weather is dire, we’ll go to the Lescar instead :) New members are welcome.

Eyam & Maye
A bit last-minute, but you can now sign up for this 11-mile walk organised by Peter. The goal this Saturday is not only to hike, but also to spot the beautiful hawthorn blossoms around the Hope Valley.

Time for section number 1 of the Sheffield Country Walk! This one led by Lotte is about 6 miles and starts in Eckington.

Another relaxed evening walk led by David A., this time through Rivelin Valley. It’s 3 miles with a bit of ascent, but at an easy pace. Way to start your weekend!

Weekend Away: Ninebanks (North Pennines)
It’s not quite the Yorkshire Dales, and it’s not quite the Cheviots: We’re going to the North Pennines! A lovely independent hostel on a quiet country lane, Ninebanks is a great base within reach of Hadrian’s Wall, the Howgill Fells, and Teesdale.
