The Christmas festivities seem to start earlier each year and Castleton have a lights switch on, festive parade and Christmas tree festival planned for 14th November from 4pm.
We will meet outside Castleton Visitors Centre at 3.15pm and then head into the village for hot chocolate, to see the parade and the light switch on including seeing Pevril Castle floodlit.
Public transport option is the 13.25 bus from Sheffield due to arrive at Castleton at 14.23..its a short walk from the bus station to the visitors centre. Return buses at 18:15 or 19:30... There are then no buses until 22:25 so don't get caught out! I will check with the bus company nearer the time that the event won't impact the bus route etc. Alternative would be to walk to Hope for the train.
There will also be a walk beforehand... Please register for this separately if you would like to join.
