Full description:
From Bakewell we head Great Longstone on the Monsal Trail. If we arrive after noon, we stop for a comfort break at the White Lion or The Crispin. Then through Hardrake Lane and crossing Coombs Dale, we arrive to Stoney Middleton, from there it's a short walk to Eyam. In Eyam we finish this walk at the Miners Arms, but there will be much to do in the village, as there is a carnival in the commemoration of the 1665 plague outbreak, including sheep roast.
Public transport or car sharing options:
From Sheffield Interchange the 218 bus departs at 9:10am. Meet at platform D3 at 9am. This bus arrives before the start time, and should it be delayed we will wait for this bus.
Going home from Eyam centre there are buses 65 and 257 to Sheffield. The last one is the 257 departing at 6:20pm.
If you come by car to Bakewell, from Eyam there are buses at 4:08pm, 5:08pm, 6:08pm and 7:24pm back to Bakewell, and it is just a 20 minutes ride.

Please note:
Sheffield 20’s and 30’s Walking Group is part of the Ramblers, a registered charity. All of our leaders are volunteers. Everyone is welcome to join us on our walks, there is no need to contact us in advance, and as long as you have a place on our Meetup booking system you can just show up. Non-members can come on up to 3 walks before joining the group. After 3 walks, we require you to sign up as a Ramblers member for insurance purposes. More information about the group can be found at https://www.sheffieldwalkinggroup.org.uk/faqs.
