Full description: Chance practice our map reading skills with a walk through the Longshaw estate (no phones no GPS). Good for beginners or those who want to build confidence. With digital technology directing us on a daily basis break free and learn appreciate a proper map, allowing you to be confident even if your phone dies, and letting you change route whenever you like, spot great places that maybe even Instagram hasn't found and read the landscape.
We will be in small groups and we’ll go through a number of small task and challenges. We’ll no doubt take advantage of the Cafe at some point. Bring everything you need for a full day outside food, drink and clothing for whatever the weather has in store. Bring your own map if you have one but you are welcome to share a group map.
Public transport or car sharing options: 272 bus from Sheffield interchange gets to Fox house intime for walk start. Post lift sharing requests and offers on the Meetup chat. Rembmer parking at Fox House is for patrons only (automatic numberplate recognition now in operation). Pay and display parking available at Longshaw.
