*This Weekend Away is for walk leaders only.*
As a thank you to our walk leaders, we have reserved a bunkhouse in Wales for an exclusive walk leaders Weekend Away. The group is paying half the price of the accommodation to make it affordable for everyone. The bunkhouse is basic, but we’ll be out and about most of the time anyway. Please note that rooms are likely to be mixed gender.
Booking opens: Monday 20th July
Price: £15
Places available: 14
Can I bring my dog? No
Located at the bottom of Tryfan, this bunkhouse is a perfect base for some challenging hikes. Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) is also nearby, so there are multiple options. For easier walks, there are routes through the valley around Lake Ogwen. Either way, this weekend is promising to be a scenic one, as we’ll be staying right in the middle of Snowdonia National Park.
As usual, you will need to arrange your own transport, although the group will try to put people in touch to arrange lift shares. The nearest train stations are in Betws-y-Coed and Bangor, from where there are cycle routes and occasional buses.
We have exclusive use of main building of the bunkhouse from Friday noon, but you are welcome to arrive at any time after that. Some people like to travel early to make the most of the day, while others prefer to travel after work. The finish time will depend on how long any walks on Sunday take before returning home. We have to check out of the bunkhouse before 11:00.
