Full description:
This 4-mile linear evening walk starts at Hillsborough Park, at the junction of Middlewood Road and Parkside Road. We walk through the park and then along some roads towards Wardsend Cemetery. A small part of the uphill through the cemetery is steep but we’ll be going at an easy pace. We then arrive at Parkwood Springs, and walking through Parkwood Springs is most of the walk, here we will have views across the valley (weather permitting). After that we walk via Kelham Island to the Shalesmoor tram stop, where you can get a tram back to the starting point if you want or, if you like, there is the Wellington pub next to the tram stop.
NOTE: This is a linear walk and we won’t be returning to the starting point, but you can get a tram back from the end point to the starting point.
Public transport or car sharing options:
The Yellow route tram from the city centre arrives at the Leppings Lane tram stop at 5:42pm, which is a minute from the starting point.
