Full description:
Join the annals of the great mountaineers of history by joining this expedition to the potentially unclimbed summit of Kinder Scout (almost certainly has been but you never know)! This is circular walk up and across the Kinder Plateau taking in the high point at 636m as marked on the OS maps (not kinder low where the trig point is). To add to feel of the outing will be using map and compass to locate the top. A great opportunity to practice or learn some old school navigation if you fancy having a go.
Route will be go across the pathless Plateau which will be bogy with rough undulating and heathery terrain so good boots with ancle support are recommended. The rest of the walk will be on rough and rocky paths with some sort sections of scrambling should anyone wish to partake. Plus the traditional early assent up the the Plateau form Edale.
Bring everything you need for full day out including food and water plus clothing suitable for the conditions. Pub options at the end as ever!
Please not this will be a muddy or boggy walk (requiring sturdy walking boots).
Public transport or car sharing options:
The 09:14 train from Sheffield to Edale Arrives 09:46. There is pay and display parking at Edale but this can be busy on weekends. So being early recommended. Please post offers of car sharing offers and request on the Chat on Meet Up
