Full description: Did you know you can WALK at all Parkruns. We are publicising walking at Hillsborough park run as part Sheffield walking Festival (https://www.synedramblers.org.uk/sheffield-walking-festival.html). I intend to take part (WALK) on 12 th September and would love to be joined by other Ramblers.

Start Location: Near the children's playground in Hillsborough park

Start time: Arrive 8:50 for a 9:00 start. I will be there wearing my red Sheffield walking group t-shirt.

Free but please register with Parkrun.
You only need to register once for all Parkrun events (covers all dates and locations). Please do not register more than once.

The course is 5k long. The course is in Hillsborough Park, Sheffield. The course is run entirely on tarmac paths. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.

Please remember that the parkrun uses shared paths. For the continued success of the event, please give way to other park users.

We start near the children's playground in the park and head along the path towards Parkside Road. Turn right and then follow the paths around the main event square. Make a left turn when you pass the car park and go around the tennis courts and then past the bike park. A small incline past the duck pond takes you to a bend & past Stephen’s Corner. Follow the path for a second small climb up to the 'Top of the Hill'. Make a right turn and follow the path towards the Library Corner and back down to the children's playground. This is a lapped route - when you come down the hill after the library for the 3rd time, fork right and you will see the finish on the right hand side. Please keep to the right-hand side on the finishing straight, following the signage and guidance from marshals as appropriate.

Public transport or car sharing options: Parking may be limited so try to arrive early and car share if possible . The main car park is charged at £1 per hour. Limited on street parking is available in designated parking bays (either 1 or 2 hours free, depending on the road). Please be considerate to local residents.

By Tram: Hillsborough Park tram stop is on the yellow route to Middlewood.

By Bus: Hillsborough Park is served by several bus routes, with the most frequent being the 20 and 53 First Mainline services. Route 20 runs past the park on Middlewood Road, while the 53 route follows Penistone Road.
