Full description:
A wander around the highlights of the Youlgrave area, with a local with no knowledge. The route will take in a number of the following, Robbin Hood Stride, Cratclif hermits cave, Bradford Dale and the fish ponds, Lower Lathkill Dale and the picturesque hamlet of Alport. The exact route will be confirmed the day before based on weather conditions and cattle movements (plus to keep the excitement levels high). Any route will involve some steep climbs, undulating grass, rocky and maybe even muddy paths. Some road walking though the village and narrow lanes with no payment. Plus crossing fields with livestock. Pub (and bakery at the start if you arrive early) options to finish.
Public transport or car sharing options:
Unfortunately it’s not easy to get to Youlgrave on public transport. So please offer to car share (put requests and offers in the Meetup comments).
If you’re struggling with transport, let me know. I might be able to pick people up from Bakewell and a bus stop if needed (but cannot promise this).
