Full description:
From the bus stop that marks the starting point of this route, we are granted a short flat warmup to cross the bridge over the river Derwent. Then, it’s a fairly steep climb to the top of Crook Hill, from where will have a perfect view of our next hill on the other side of Ladybower. We descend towards Snake Road and cross the river Ashop before our next climb. The first bit is steep, but then the incline becomes more gentle until we reach the Win Hill trig pillar. After a short look back at Crook Hill, we start a very steep and very muddy walk down. Depending on the time, we may either walk into Hope or head straight for the train station.
Public transport or car sharing options:
The 257 bus leaves Sheffield Interchange at 10:00 to arrive at Ladybower Inn for 10:33. The train from Hope leaves at 14:36 to arrive in Sheffield at 14:53.
As this is a linear walk, driving is not convenient. You could park in Hope and take a short bus to Ladybower Inn from there, but it means you'll have to wait a while for the rest of the group to arrive at 10:33.
