Future walk leaders, we need you! Sheffield 20s and 30s Walking Group is getting bigger (and better!) and we need more walks!
Come along and refresh your map reading skills (or learn some), talk all things route planning and how to lead a group of people, then put all that talk into practice out in the countryside.
Unusually, we will start this walk in the pub for a coffee, or second breakfast if you wish. Here we will get out the map, refresh our skills, and plan a route. It’s then off for a moderate 5-6 miler round the wild but beautiful moors around White Edge.
We will run a series of these Learn-to-Lead walks, with the ultimate aim of supporting members to eventually have to confidence to lead (or co-lead) walks themselves. Numbers are restricted to give you maximum support. If you sign up, please make every effort to attend, and this event will go ahead even in wet weather.
What to bring
Please remember to dress appropriately for the time of year, with plenty of warm clothes and waterproofs. See our website for further info[ https://www.sheffieldwalkinggroup.org.uk/be-prepared](https://www.sheffieldwalkinggroup.org.uk/be-prepared). Please also remember a packed lunch and water.
If you have one, please bring along an OS Peak District map (OL1 The Peak District, Dark Peak area) and a walking compass. A waterproof map cover is advised if your map is not waterproof. If you want to buy your own, remember Ramblers members get discounts at several outdoors shops!
Public transport or car sharing options:
Catch 272 bus from Sheffield Interchange at 9:41 (Please check the times for changes before you depart), or use the comments on Meetup to arrange lifts.
