Full description:
Join us for a festive circular walk around the stunning Chatsworth Estate as we make the most of the final weekend of the Chatsworth Christmas Market.
We’ll begin our route in Baslow, entering the estate grounds and following the river as it winds gently towards Chatsworth House. Rather than heading straight for the market, we’ll first take a scenic detour through the charming village of Edensor, known for its picturesque cottages and peaceful setting.
From there, we’ll continue uphill across the open fields at the top of the estate, taking in wide views across the surrounding countryside. The route then leads us down towards the River Derwent, crossing the bridge near Calton Lees, before climbing into the winter woodland above the house.
After looping through the woods, we’ll descend back down to Chatsworth House and spend some time enjoying the Christmas Market, with its food stalls, festive decorations, and lively atmosphere.
Once everyone’s had a good browse and perhaps a mulled wine or two, we’ll make our way back along the riverside path to Baslow, finishing our walk with a bit of Christmas spirit and a well-earned rest.
