Colombo, 1990. Maali Almeida, war photographer, gambler and closet gay, has woken up dead in what seems like a celestial visa office. For anyone new to the book club, we go to the pub and have an informal chat about the book and any other interesting questions that it raises. If we get a lot of people, we might split into smaller groups of 3 or 4 and then mix it up halfway through.
