For our 12th book we are dipping into the Regency period with Persuasion, Jane Austen’s final novel. Despite being written over 200 years ago, it remains a popular classic, perhaps due to its enduring themes of love, regret, and societal pressures.

It’s worth noting that you can get hold of Persuasion for free as an audiobook or a pdf. It’s also nice and short so definitely achievable in a month!

For anyone new to the bookclub, we go to the pub and have an informal chat about the book and any other interesting questions that it raises. If we get a lot of people, we might split into smaller groups of 3 or 4 and then mix it up halfway through.
