Full description:
Come and take advantage of having a weekday off to enjoy a well-known route without the crowds. Please note that this will be a relatively fast-paced walk requiring a good level of fitness.
Starting from Edale we'll be walking south on the track past Hardenclough farm, before turning right onto a path heading west until we reach the main road. We'll continue straight on the road, turning left after 200 onto the path leading to the chapel gate track which will take us up onto the ridge. Following the ridge east we'll pass over the top of Rushup edge, the Lord's Seat, Mam Tor, Hollins Cross, and on to our final top at Lose hill. From there we'll retrace our steps back to Hollins Cross to avoid a long walk on the road back to Edale. We'll descend past Peter Barn to the road, which we'll turn left onto and walk along back to the Edale car park/station.
Public transport or car sharing options:
Bradley and I can drive 7 people from central Sheffield - we'll arrange lifts in the Meetup comments. It's also possible to catch the train to Edale, if there's more than 7 people attending there's a 9.15 train from central Sheffield which arrives at 9.45.
