Full description: April 17th marks 75th anniversary of the formation of the Peak District National Park. To celebrate how close Sheffield is to the Peak District we will walk from Sheffield (Hillsborough) into the Peak District. From Malin Bridge tram stop we will walk along the Loxley valley to Damflask in the Peak District. We will walk round one side of Damflask to the Plough in Low Bradfield, which will allow us to finish the walk with a drink to celebrate the Peak District.

Note the walk ends at this point as night will be closing in. Hence we will need a prompt start. If you have one, a headtorch would be helpful, just in case. To get back to Hillsborough / the start of the walk there are 61 / 62 buses.

Public transport or car sharing options: Tram Malin Bridge.

Or 81 / 82 bus.

There is a tram park and ride for anyone driving; bearing in mind would need to get the bus back to car after the walk.

Be prepared: Please remember to dress appropriately for the time of year, with plenty of warm clothes and waterproofs, as well as food and water. Please bring a head torch. Further information on what to bring can be found on our website here: https://www.sheffieldwalkinggroup.org.uk/be-prepared

Sign-up: Sign-up for this walk opens one week before the event. If you sign up and can no longer make it, please be respectful of others and remove yourself from the event so that others can take your place. We request you do this ***NO LATER THAN 6pm*** the night before the walk.

Please note: Sheffield Millenial Walkers are a sister group to the Sheffield 20’s and 30’s Walking Group who are part of the Ramblers, a registered charity. All of our leaders are volunteers. Everyone is welcome to join us on our walks. New members can come on up to 3 walks before joining the group. After 3 walks, we require you to sign up as a Ramblers member for insurance purposes. More information about the group can be found at
