No refunds will be given unless someone else can be found to take your place.

Details

Booking onto a weekend away or a social where full payment is required before the event ("paid in advance events")
When you book onto a weekend away or a paid in advance event (e.g. the Summer Ball, Christmas Party, theatre bookings), you are liable to pay the full cost of your place even if you are subsequently unable to attend.

Failure to pay by the payment deadline
A deadline for payments will usually be set for weekends away and paid in advance events. You must make payment before the payment deadline. If you do not pay for your place by the payment deadline, the event organiser is free to re-sell your place without notice to you. 

Payment for last minute bookings
If you book onto an event after the payment deadline has expired the organiser will agree a date with you by which payment must be made. This will be prior to the paid in advance event or the start of the weekend away except in exceptional circumstances. 

If you are unable to attend an event you are booked on to
As explained above, once you have booked onto a weekend or paid in advance event, you are liable for the cost of your place even if you are subsequently unable to attend. However, if you are unable to attend a weekend or paid in advance event please contact the organiser, who will endeavour to re-sell your place. We generally operate a reserve list for weekends away and paid in advance events and so it is often possible for us to arrange for someone to take your place.

If the place cannot be resold by the group and it is ten days or less to the start of the weekend or the paid in advance event.
If we have been unable to sell your place by this point it is open to you to sell the place yourself should you so wish. Please note that you are not permitted to do this more than ten days before the weekend or the paid in advance event.  Please also note that only members of the Ramblers can be accepted on weekends away and some social events, so you may not be able to sell your place to a non-member. If you are in doubt speak with the organiser for guidance before agreeing to sell your place. 

If you have booked but not paid for an event
You remain liable for the cost of any weekend or paid in advance event you have booked. If you do not make payment we will not be able to accept any further bookings from you on weekends away or paid in advance events until the outstanding debt is cleared.
