Booking On Socials
Socials are open to all new and potential members. The same principles apply to the socials as the walks, i.e. feel free to attend two or three events before deciding to join the Group.
Please note that some socials have a limited number of places (e.g. comedy and theatre). These can only be booked from the date specified by speaking to the social secretary taking the booking. The social secretaries are not expected to call you back, if you cannot get through try again later.
For all events requiring payment in advance, a booking is only guaranteed when the payment has been received by the social secretary taking the booking and if there are still places available. It may, at the social secretaries discretion, be allocated to another if they pay first! If not given in person, it is your responsibility to check that payment has been received and to confirm that you have a place booked. We will endeavour to publish a list of those booked on an event via the e-mailing list and comments board shortly before the event date.
For all events that you book on please note that you are expected to attend. If you cannot make it for any reason please let us know as far in advance as possible; this gives others an opportunity to take your place. Where payments are due you will be liable for the cost unless we can reallocate the place. If you have already paid for an event it will be your responsibility to recoup it from whoever has taken your place. For details on refunds see our Refund Policy on the General Info page.
