Lake District weekend away at Rydal hall

We set off from the Bunkhouse to Rydal Water, crossing the footbridge opposite The Badger. After a short detour to the caves, (thanks for the tip, Jules!) where someone went for a quick dip, we headed back to the Lake through the woods. After following the edge of Lake Grasmere - where there were some photo opportunities, and a very placid duck - we stopped at the Garden Centre Tea Rooms to refuel. Then off to the graveyard, where we loitered around Wordsworth family graves whilst waiting for the Gingerbread shop to open!
Dove Cottage (Wordsworth's home) was the next stop, although we just had a quick look at the outside before heading off up and along the "Coffin Run" - the return route to Rydal Hall.
