So glad I didn't miss this one! Sunday 1st June was a beautiful day, our sunniest walk so far, and the White Peak was an ideal spot - hardly anybody else about.
We met in Longnor, shorts, t-shirts and sun hats were the attire. Mostly on the flat with lots of drink stops, we were a happy crowd, especially when we came across a village hall that sold bargain home-made cakes and ice lollies for 30p!
Chrome Hill was a bit steep and had I known that we were to go up and down it and back the same way I would have stayed at the bottom...naaa only joking. Excellent views from the top, where we had our lunch. Some decided to go to it's peak but a small group of us decided that it was our duty to bag-sit for the others and stay put!
Finished up back in Longnor with the gigantic slices of cake that they serve at the craft centre.... lovely!
