15th February 2003: On a cloudless February day we met at Hathersage station before walking up to Stanage Edge via North Lees Hall, with its connections with Jane Eyre. We then walked along Stanage, enjoying excellent views across the Peak, and visiting Higger Tor and Carl Wark before a stop for some food at the Longshaw cafe. We then descended to the Derwent valley through Padley Gorge and walked along the river back to Hathersage.
