Sheffield Walking Group

"The walking group for people in their 20s & 30s"

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm not a member, can I still come on one of your walks?
Yes, feel free to come on a few walks (up to three) with us first before deciding whether you want to join or not.
How do I join?
See here for details.
Do I just turn up for a walk?
Yes, provided you have booked on with the walk leader by noon the day before. Please do not make the walk leader's job more difficult by turning up unannounced.
Do I need to book on a walk?
yes!
Why do I need to book on to a walk?
So we know how many people to expect. If there are too many, we need time to arrange to split the walk into two groups. So we know who to expect - so we don't leave anyone behind.
Can I come without my own transport?
Yes, we always meet in Sheffield so we can car-share to the start of the walk. When signing on for the walk, it's useful to tell the walk leader if you are coming in a car with space to give lifts, or if you need a lift yourself.
Can I bring my dog on a walk?
In general no, but some walks are 'dog friendly' - look for the dog symbol in the walks programme.
I'm in my 40s/50s/above, can I still join?
One of our members has set up the Sheffield 40s Walking Group, and many of the members are still great friends with the 20s and 30s group and come on our walks and socials.
