Children on Walks
If you would like to bring your child on a walk, this is OK with the walking group subject to a few simple conditions:
- Ask the walk leader first. They may feel that the walk is not suitable for your child, or for children at all.
- Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. We are not trained or qualified child-minders, and the parent/guardian remains responsible for the child while on the group walk.
- For the child's care in case an accident happens to you, we need the name and contact number of somebody to call in an emergency.
- This should be recorded on the Ramblers' official consent form (PDF) and handed to the walk leader at the start of the walk.
- Again, though you remain in charge of the child, the walk leader is in charge of the walk; so their permission is required for children to come along, and any instructions they give must be followed.
